A Review of Earth Breeze Eco Sheets: Are They Worth It?

Earth Breeze is one of the newest additions to the eco-friendly detergent market. Launching in 2019, Earth Breeze now has a series of eco-friendly household cleaning products.

But how eco-friendly are these products, especially the Eco Sheets? Do they clean well? And the ultimate question—are they worth it?

I’m here to answer these questions for you. I thoroughly researched Earth Breeze Eco Sheets laundry detergent, and Earth Breeze’s entire product line, to help you decide if Earth Breeze detergent is right for you.

Here’s what I thought of Earth Breeze

My assessment of Earth Breeze Eco Sheets

Cons

  • Since it’s a newcomer to the industry, it isn’t as well known as other detergents.
  • Earth Breeze offers a limited product line compared to some other eco-friendly brands.

Earth Breeze Eco Sheets

Earth Breeze makes laundry detergent sheets that dissolve easily and don’t contain any dyes or harmful chemicals. Eco-friendly, Earth Breeze laundry strips use plant-based and natural ingredients, unlike what’s commonly found in traditional powder or liquid detergent. Choosing Eco Sheets cuts down on toxic chemicals entering the environment and harmful aquatic ecosystems.

The compact design makes life easier, as well, while also cutting down on the shipping-related carbon emissions.

A little more about the brand:

  • They’re designed to dissolve and work well in hot or cold water.
  • They come in a scented or fragrance-free option.
  • They ship in 30-strip packages, good for up to 60 loads.
  • You can use them in any washing machine.
  • The laundry detergent is vegan and cruelty free.
  • Earth Breeze offers several other eco-friendly cleaning products.
  • Earth Breeze is heavily involved in social and environmental initiatives, including ocean cleanups and tree planting.

More than a few laundry detergents contain chemicals that prove dangerous to the environment, as well as irritating sensitive skin and allergies. Earth Breeze detergent strips use natural, dye-free, and earth-friendly ingredients, as well as environmentally friendly packaging. The laundry detergent keeps the planet safe while cleaning your clothes.

Earth Breeze also puts its money where its mouth is, and is involved in lowering its carbon footprint, takes part in environmental initiatives, and donates 10 laundry sheets to a charity of your choice with each purchase.

Earth Breeze Eco Sheets come in a pack of 30, which cleans up to 60 loads. All you have to do is cut or tear the sheets in half. For large or particularly dirty loads, a whole sheet is better.

Earth Breeze’s laundry sheets cost $20 for a one-time purchase of a 30-sheet pack. Alternatively, you can bulk-buy a 12-pack that works out to 720 loads for a price of $120, making it the more economical option—it saves money, time, and even further reduces carbon emissions.

As well as one-time purchases, Earth Breeze offers subscriptions, which brings the price down by 40%. These can be canceled anytime, and deliveries can be arranged for every one to four months. A 100% money-back guarantee is available with every purchase.

How do they work?

Earth Breeze laundry strips are a liquidless detergent and make use of the water already in your machine. You can use half a sheet, one full sheet, or even two sheets, depending on how heavy and dirty the load is.

Earth Breeze Eco Sheets work best when added directly to the drum machine instead of through a dispenser. Put it in the drum before you put your clothes in. That’s not to say they can’t be used in a dispenser, just tear them into smaller pieces first.

Beyond laundry detergent

Earth Breeze used to only sell its Eco Sheets, but after firmly establishing itself in the laundry detergent market, it branched out to extend its line to additional cleaning products. No doubt you’ll see Earth Breeze introducing even more items in the future.

Here’s what else you can get from Earth Breeze to clean your home:

  • Paper towel alternative

Earth Breeze’s reusable paper towels can replace up to 1,500 paper towels, making them more eco-friendly than the one-and-done options found in retailers.

  • Dishwasher tablets

Earth Breeze’s dishwasher tablets, called Power Pebbles (cute!), use completely biodegradable packaging, dissolve easily, and clean as effectively as their standard counterparts.

  • Tote bags

These tote bags aren’t just friendly to your wallet, but also the environment. With each purchase, either a pound of waste is removed from the environment or Earth Breeze plants 10 trees, not to mention preventing the plastic waste associated with plastic shopping bags.

  • Home bundle

Earth Breeze’s deluxe home bundle contains a multi-surface cleaner, dishwasher tablets, and reusable kitchen towels.

Why Earth Breeze?

Founded in 2019, Earth Breeze is based in Oregon but has staff from around the world.

It’s been a sustainable company since its inception, donating 1% of its profits to environmental causes every year. Every Earth Breeze purchase also comes with a donation of 10 laundry sheets to those in need, spanning military veterans, domestic violence shelters, and first responders. If you buy Earth Breeze, you help people in need.

The company is also recognized by the Organic Consumers Association and Green America, with environmental advocacy organizations praising Earth Breeze’s commitment to eco-friendly initiatives. Earth Breeze is hands-on with these efforts, which include ocean cleanups and tree planting.

It’s also involved in 1% for the Planet, an organization whose members donate 1% of their yearly revenue to improving the environment. Lastly is Earth Breeze’s partnership with We Are Neutral, a program that offsets manufacturing and shipping-related carbon emissions with environmental initiatives.

If you’re trying to cut down on plastic waste and reduce your carbon footprint, Earth Breeze laundry strips are a great choice. They don’t use plastic or heavy packaging, so the lightweight, compact design reduces carbon emissions.

Supporting Earth Breeze is great for eco-friendly consumers who want a cruelty-free, dye-free, and environmentally friendly alternative to a traditional laundry detergent that actually cleans clothes.

While you’ll find a broader product line from other eco-friendly outlets, Earth Breeze is branching out in that regard. For a side-by-side comparison of Earth Breeze and Tru Earth, which has a much broader product range but whose detergent strips cost twice as much, read my article on the topic.

Why not Earth Breeze?

The main reason not to buy Earth Breeze laundry detergent is if you want to keep filling landfills and oceans with plastic jugs. You might not have an interest in living a zero-waste, carbon-neutral, and environmentally friendly life. While that’s your choice, it’s certainly not a good one for the environment.

My Earth Breeze review

Here’s what I thought of using Earth Breeze laundry detergent sheets.

Cleaning power: 4.7/5

Earth Breeze Eco Sheets perform exceptionally well, especially considering they don’t have help from harsh chemicals, and this is seen across dark, white, and colored clothes. They also perform well in all types of washing machines, even HE washers, work in any temperature, and will get rid of all the stains and odors in a load.

The only reason this detergent doesn’t get 5 out of 5 is that it’s not the best at getting rid of tough stains. It’s not going to get rid of red wine or oil stains, for example, and you’ll need to double up your sheets for heavier loads. You’ll need to use a pretreatment.

Price: 4.9/5

There’s a lot of value with Eco Sheets.

The one-time purchase price of $0.33 per load makes it one of the most affordable laundry detergents on the market, and the subscription brings that down to a quite economical $0.20 per wash. That $0.20 per load just doesn’t provide as great cleaning of super-tough stains when compared to standard detergents.

Despite how affordable the detergent is, it only gets a 9/10. Some traditional detergents range from $0.12 to $0.16 per load, but these fail to protect the environment, and even outright damage it.

Despite this, Earth Breeze offers better value, as its reach goes far beyond your washing machine. Whether or not the environmental and social contributions the brand makes is worth the minor increase in price is up to you.

Product line: 4.1/5

Earth Breeze offers detergent sheets in two styles: Fragrance Free and Fresh Scent. These can be ordered in packs of 30 sheets, which clean 60 loads, or a bulk order of 12 packs containing 30 sheets, which cleans up to 720 loads.

It gets a 4.1/5 because it could offer a more complete range of eco-friendly products, such as mesh laundry bags and wool dryer balls, but it’s getting better.

Customer service: 4.5/5

Earth Breeze’s customer support is quick and helpful, with multiple reviews highlighting how efficient it is. Customer service agents were patient and came up with practical solutions to customer issues. Returns are easy and hassle free.

Convenience: 5/5

Earth Breeze Eco Sheets literally couldn’t be any simpler to use. All you need to do is place a sheet in the washing machine with a dirty load, and they’ll dissolve within 30 seconds of turning the water on.

This lightweight and compact detergent is also easier to store than many competitors, which usually come in plastic jugs. The cardboard envelope will fit in any drawer, cupboard, or tight space in your laundry room.

Eco-friendliness: 4.8/5

Thanks to all the work Earth Breeze does partnering with Earth-friendly organizations, giving its revenue up to help save the planet, and donating to charities, I’d give it a 5 out of 5 for eco-friendliness if not for the polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, and sodium dodecyl sulfate. Nonetheless, Earth Breeze is definitely eco-friendly.

Overall: 4.66/5

Eco Sheets ticks almost all the boxes you’d want in a laundry detergent. They work in all washing machines, cleaning light and dark clothes in hot and cold water, and don’t irritate sensitive skin. They’re also one of the most affordable laundry detergents on the market, despite making a significant contribution to the environment.

While there isn’t a wide range of products to choose from, the laundry sheets are easy to use, and customer support is as helpful as you’d want.

Other Earth Breeze reviews

I analyzed reviews across a number of review sites, including Trustpilot, Facebook, and the Better Business Bureau. I also consulted reviews on Earth Breeze’s own website, but those must be taken with a grain of salt. It would hardly post negative reviews on its own website.

Earth Breeze has a 3.8 out of 5 rating on Trustpilot, with the positive reviews applauding the washing results and quick delivery. Several reviews also mentioned how easy to store the laundry sheets are.

Earth Breeze’s Facebook page doesn’t have any reviews, but there are numerous comments leaving feedback for the company. These mainly included positive remarks, mostly praising the fragrance-free option.

While Earth Breeze isn’t Better Business Bureau accredited, it has a 4.71 rating with 282 BBB reviews. The positive customer reviews highlight the fair refund policies, quick customer service, and ease of use.

Wrapping it up

Consumers like you are trying to lead a more eco-friendly lifestyle, even in the laundry room. You’re looking for plastic-free alternatives to the ghastly plastic jugs that traditional detergents normally come in, all-natural ingredients that won’t harm your family or nearby ecosystems, and brands that do more than put your money in their pockets.

Earth Breeze Eco Sheets are a great choice for consumers trying to lead a more zero-waste, plant-based life. Customer reviews highlight how well the laundry detergent cleans clothes, as well as the quick and friendly customer service.

The bulk subscription also makes Earth Breeze laundry strips one of the more economical options to pick up, coming in at an affordable $0.20 per load. Coupled with the eco-friendly and charitable initiatives Earth Breeze is involved in, each purchase supports the planet.
